Filming Blog: The Track

Image
On Thursday, the 30th my partner and I starting to film. My role was to be the camera man. My partner was the character on camera. Since my group only consists of me and my partner, it took more steps to set up than other groups. We decided to film on the track that belongs to our school. My partner was already wearing his athletic clothes that were his costume, so he only had to take off a jacket before we started filming. On the track, we had to take into account that there were other people, iguanas, and stuff already on the track. We then found a spot with little traffic that would work well. It was also pretty hot out with not a lot of shade. As props we used my phone as a camera, his phone as a stopwatch, and a bottle of Gatorade. My phone camera is average for a smart phone, so it had some troubles staying focused and and not getting blurry. Also, we didn't have any gear for filming besides my phone so it was hard to get decent shots. Due to this we had a couple re-takes. We

Scene 1:  Scene 1 will be a tracking shot, following an actor running on a track outdoors.  The shot will be primarily wide, and not focused on the actor themselves, and will last for four to five seconds.  The runner will be dressed in lightly-colored athletic clothes and running shoes.     Scene 2: Scene 2 will consist of the wide tracking shot from the first scene continuing, partially switching to a behind-the-back shot as the runner passes the camera. It will then cut to an extreme close-up of an iPhone, which will be running a stopwatch showing a time, likely in the thirty second range.     Scene 3: Scene 3 will cut back to the runner, this time as a medium long shot from behind the runner and will show them running for several seconds, before they pass a marker on the ground which will indicate the end of the run. They will then stop running and exit the track. There will be another cut back to the iPhone stopwatch, displaying a stopped time.      Scene 4: Scene 4 will be a

Group Blog

I'm in a group of two. My group has me and my partner Jake Vanzile. I decided to work in a group for this project because its better all around to work in a group. If I had decided to work alone it would likely lead to some issues. With a partner I get more motivation to do my work. I can also ask my partner about something I forgot in class if I need to. By working in a group we can finish faster and offer multiple/different perspectives. This is important because if you work by yourself you could be struggling for time and have a hard time thinking. Even though we are not a larger group it is still a lot faster to work in a group of two compared to being alone. It also is easier for us to work together because how we're situated in the classroom. We sit next to each other so its not hard to communicate. We are able to physically show each other a problem we have when we can't figure it out. It's also not as hard to brainstorm when we work together. We have worked on

The main focus will go towards one group member who we will refer to as A1(Actor 1). Both group members will be wearing lightweight athletic wear, generally in a lighter color such as gray for example. Both members will be in some form of running shoe, but the shoes won't be anything flashy. Schedule- 9/22/21: Group members research commercials for our product(Gatorade) to find conventions and codes, and began to plan for the commercial. 9/24/21: Group members will be storyboarding the commercial, and possibly making adjustments to the visuals. 9/28/21: Group members will be filming/recording the necessary shots and scenes. 9/30/21: Group members will edit, and reshoot if needed. Location list- When group members start to film they will use the track field to their school. While they'r

My group is doing a Gatorade commercial. In most Gatorade commercials we see Athletic Clothing  Gatorade Weights Sports gear and/or equipment The styles we see in most Gatorade commercials are A lack of dialogue, muted visuals, intense music, and a turning point in the commercials story. The turning point is a result of a character drinking Gatorade. Often shows slogans in relation to self empowerment and motivation such as: "I Can Do Better", "Win From Within", "The Secret To Victory". Typically utilizes a professional or famous athlete .

Hi, my name is Jack Strien. I'm 15 years old and in the tenth grade. I go to Fort Lauderdale High School and take AICE Media Studies in my 3rd hour class. I initially wanted to take the course so I could learn more about analyzing and understanding the things I see in media related content. I have watched and still do watch a lot of tv shows and movies. I think because of this I started to develop an interest in what happens behind the scenes. When my older sister went to high school she took a class for photography. Sometimes when she was doing assignments I would see what she was doing. I always thought it was cool how she was taking pictures from different angles. Though I do know AICE Media Studies will be hard at times I'm still excited to learn about it. I would like to establish at least a basic understanding of the different aspects of this class. Learning about camera angles and editing are the aspects I'm looking forward to the most. I don't have any experien
