Intro
Hi, my name is Jack Strien. I'm 15 years old and in the tenth grade. I go to Fort Lauderdale High School and take AICE Media Studies in my 3rd hour class. I initially wanted to take the course so I could learn more about analyzing and understanding the things I see in media related content. I have watched and still do watch a lot of tv shows and movies. I think because of this I started to develop an interest in what happens behind the scenes. When my older sister went to high school she took a class for photography. Sometimes when she was doing assignments I would see what she was doing. I always thought it was cool how she was taking pictures from different angles. Though I do know AICE Media Studies will be hard at times I'm still excited to learn about it. I would like to establish at least a basic understanding of the different aspects of this class. Learning about camera angles and editing are the aspects I'm looking forward to the most. I don't have any experience with editing yet. However, I have seen in person and learned some from past assignments what to expect form dealing with camera angles. Besides understanding editing and camera angles, I'm still pretty interested in finding out as much a I can about media in general. During school I intent to get an AICE Diploma and after this school year I should have passed six AICE classes in all. When I'm not at school or doing home work I enjoy cruising on skateboarding, watching tv shows, and hanging out with friends. Now that school has been back for a some weeks now I'm starting to get more settled in again. This is good for me because I will likely pick up more hobbies and continue the same ones more. Hopefully I can pick up some hobbies or more interests involving what I do in this class so it will be more enjoyable than it already is. I'm satisfied with my choice in picking this class so far and hope to see how it expands as I progress with it this school year.
