INT. JALEN’S HOUSE - DAY


Jalen is sitting at a cluttered desk in his home with several papers on the floor. He is seemingly exhausted while examining a couple pieces of paper. Props are shown across his desk, in his hands, and on the floor.


Jalen

(voice over)

My brother Alex, who I am very close to, was recently going to meet with me over an important family related topic that affects the both of us.


Recently, our father who had been taking care of us alone unfortunately passed away due to his sickness.  It has taken a toll on both of us but for some reason Alex seemed very concerned about something else. Our father left us a considerable amount of money to split.


When we decided to have met he seemed very panicked and kept telling me how important it was that we met in person.


After receiving this note and not having heard back from Alex since early yesterday morning, I have to find him.





EXT. JALEN’S HOUSE - DAY


Jalen has a flashback from when he is in his home when he walks to the door to check his mail. He seems tired but receives an unsealed envelope without writing or stamps and drops it on a cluttered table. He starts to examine the envelope.


Jalen is very distraught when he opens the letter to find out his brother has been kidnapped and there is a substantial ransom. He starts to throw things around in anger at himself 


Alex

(muffled dialogue over the phone)

No no no I need to see you in person, seriously. Meet me at the park.



INT. JALEN’S HOUSE - DAY


Jalen’s flashback ends and he is sitting in his house again. He decides what he will do next.


Jalen

(voice over)

I don’t know where to look. The only thing I can think of is the location he told me to go to every time he said we needed to meet in person. 


I think maybe I should start at the park.



Jalen gets up from his chair pushing the note in the unsealed envelope in his pocket. He swallows something with a glass of water, then he grabs his coat and rushes out the door.



EXT. PARK - DAY


Jalen arrives at the park and starts looking in all directions. He has no idea what to look for and he has only ever gone to this park a handful of times with his brother Alex.


Jalen decides to walk along a fence and look for clues. He reaches the end and decides to walk along the sidewalk a little. 



Jalen

(voice over)

Where are you Alex?


Jalen can’t find anything and is struggling to remember the parts of the park Alex would have said he liked most. Jalen looks in one last area by some bushes and flowers. He thinks he sees a clue. He kneels down and reaches by the flowers only to have grabbed an old granola bar wrapper.



EXT. PARK - EVENING 


Jalen has been searching for a while now and is very tired. He is sweating all over and decides to take a break. 


Jalen

(muffled voice over)

I’ve been here for hours and haven’t found a single thing.



Jalen finds a bench and decides he will take a break here. 

Underneath the bench he stumbles on the bracelet his father left for him and his brother Alex. After this he can only conclude that this is where his brother had disappeared.


Jalen

Is this the bracelet dad gave to us right before he passed?




EXT. PARK - EVENING


Jalen is sitting on the bench in amazement that he found the bracelet.


Jalen 

(voice over)

What is this doing here?


A man Jalen has never seen walks up to him.


Stranger

(dialogue)

Hi, do you mind if I take this seat next to you?


Jalen

It’s all yours.


Stranger

Thanks.


Jalen starts to think about the bracelet again.


Jalen

(voice over)

Bracelet. Bracelet. What could this mean?


The man says something to Jalen.


Stranger

(dialogue)

Do you like this park? That’s a nice bracelet you have there.


Jalen

Thanks, it’s my brothers. Yeah, this park is pretty nice.


Stranger

Your brothers? Hey, take a stick of gum.


Jalen

Ah, no thanks.


Stranger

Come on, it's not poison.


Jalen

Alright.


Jalen reaches for a piece of gum as the stranger is putting one in his mouth. Jalen starts to chew his piece. 


Jalen

(voice over)

Just a normal stick of gum.


The man is looking at Jalen. Jalen gets a weird feeling. Suddenly everything goes black.

Other Information for Final Project

Location -  My group plans to film at Easterlin park 1000 NW 38th street, Oakland Park, FL 33309 and at a group member's house.  Schedule- 2/26/22-2/27/22 - My group will gather all necessary props and costumes. Though it is important to my group that spending is kept to a minimum, I will go to a hardware and costume store to gather the necessary equipment I need for my group's characters, costumes and props. 2/28/22-3/3/22 - I will finalize and complete my entire storyboard. 3/5/22-3/6/22 -  My group will start filming. This means my group will go to the first location, Easterlin park. While my group is at the park, scenes one through ten will be filmed, however my group will only film the parts of these scenes that require the usage of the park. During these scenes, including myself, three members of my group will be acting while one member films. 3/9/22 - Filming will continue. My group will film scenes three, five, eight, and ten. The parts being filmed in these scenes only

Storyboard

     Scene 1:  Scene 1 will be a tracking shot, following an actor running on a track outdoors.  The shot will be primarily wide, and not focused on the actor themselves, and will last for four to five seconds.  The runner will be dressed in lightly-colored athletic clothes and running shoes.     Scene 2: Scene 2 will consist of the wide tracking shot from the first scene continuing, partially switching to a behind-the-back shot as the runner passes the camera. It will then cut to an extreme close-up of an iPhone, which will be running a stopwatch showing a time, likely in the thirty second range.     Scene 3: Scene 3 will cut back to the runner, this time as a medium long shot from behind the runner and will show them running for several seconds, before they pass a marker on the ground which will indicate the end of the run. They will then stop running and exit the track. There will be another cut back to the iPhone stopwatch, displaying a stopped time.      Scene 4: Scene 4 will be a
