Pitch 1

A group of researchers gathering information on an anomaly in their world, and its behaviors and properties.


I thought about this pitch reasonably quickly. I want to do this pitch because I think it is practical, doable, and can be entertaining. I also think my group will be able to produce this pitch with little to no problems at all. For this pitch the props and costumes that would be used are relatively simple. Any props for this pitch should also be pretty easy to find and not cost a lot. When discussing with my group it was decided that this idea could be expanded on very easily. I think this idea has the most overall potential. Also, if anything were to go wrong I think this idea would be the most flexible.


Pitch 2

Following a series of attacks in their hometown, a group of teens discovers all is not as it seems in the local forest.


It took me a much longer to decide on this pitch. While it may seem simple, there are also individual factors for each group member that can hinder the creation of some pitches. I want to do this pitch because I think it could be pretty entertaining. I think filming for this pitch could present some minor problems, but otherwise I think it could turn out pretty well executed. It might take more time to plan and film for a pitch like this but it is doable for my entire group. It would not be hard to gather props and costume, but finding a suitable location could be somewhat difficult. Also, it would have to be outdoors which could be problematic due to the weather. Moreover, my group likes this idea and if outside factors did not interfere, this pitch could be produced and entertaining.



However, due to the practicality and flexibility for my group, I favor pitch 1.

When it came to choosing music and sound effects my group decided it would be best to either use YouTube or iMovie. Though I could have tried get permission to use music that is usually copyrighted, my group decided against this because it would likely take a long wait. Also, the music my group needed for the clips was very find. After deciding on this my group then chose between YouTube and iMovie to use music from. YouTube has a large array of copyright free music. However, the music, jingles, and sound effects are included with iMovie on a royalty free basis. Screenplay INT. JALEN’S HOUSE - DAY Jalen is sitting at a cluttered desk in his home with several papers on the floor. He is seemingly exhausted while examining a couple pieces of paper. Props are shown across his desk, in his hands, and on the floor. Comparing 9, the Shot, and 9, the full length

What is the take away from the video?   My group acknowledges all the aspects and things needed to make a film. I learned the writing tips, production and post production steps and procedures. I could take away that there are ways to be better prepared for filming then I have before.     What good information did you gather while watching  it?   Budgeting and the resources you have access to will be crucial throughout the entire making of the film. When editing, cut the scenes down until you can't anymore which will shorten the film to just the important parts of it. Preparation is key for a film. However, even if you create a storyboard for the entire film, there still may be changes while making it. Stick to a theme and a tone and let it guide the story. If you do not do so, it will confuse the audience. Lastly, taking care of your cast is important because if you do not have respect them, they may not make it as easy to film.     How do you envision...
