Completing the Film

My group has all the clips needed to finish editing. Due to the reshoot I have to edit everything together again but it shouldn't be difficult because I know how to do it now. Also, the editing was not the reason for the reshoot. This is helpful because I can basically edit the new clips the exact same way as I edited the unusable clips. This will make it easier for me to finish editing because I just have to do the same thing. I started by moving all of the clips into iMovie and put them into order. This was pretty straight forward, but the layout took a little while to completely arrange. After, I chose the proper transitions for each clip. The transitions I decided to use were fade light, fade dark, dissolve, wipe, and slide. Previously, I had only intended to use dissolve and fade. However, after seeing the clips together my group decided for some parts, wipe and slide worked. I then inserted the music and sound effects. The music was a little tricky to work with because I had to align it with each scene and make multiple duplicates. Also, I had to make the music start at less volume and end at less volume to make it fit with the dialogue and other sounds in the film. Whenever I would add a sound effect to the clips, the music would get messed up. To resolve this I had to go back and forth a lot as well as setting some things to background. Also, to make sure the film was two minutes long, some clips were sped up. By doing this I could show a clip fully and also have the clip fit into the film. For some scenes I used a filter called cloudy. I did this to give the effect like a viewer is seeing from something else's eyes. Now that my film is complete my group is really relieved. A lot of steps went into this film and definitely more steps than I've ever had for a film.
