Intro blog for the Final Task

Hi, my name is Jack Strien. I'm fifteen and in the 10th grade. I currently go to Fort Lauderdale High School and am enrolled in AICE Media Studies. At the time this is being written I am in the second quarter of the school year. So far during this school year I have learned some information about this class and what to expect of my final project. Though I am still developing my abilities relating to film creation, I'm excited to complete my final task. Initially, I choose to take this class to get better at analyzing things. Throughout my life I have seen many TV shows and movies. I thought it would be cool to be better at understanding films in the way they were made to be projected to the viewer. By getting better at understanding a film from the creators thought process I think I would understand the concepts and enjoy the film better overall. I would also like to build a better understanding at some of the basic skills used in our film making process. This pretty much means getting better at filming, editing, and some other important skills. Though I have used some basic editing software and filmed on my phone, I would like to get better at using them so I can at least optimize my abilities with my limited options. In this class I have also learned about media related vocabulary. This part sounds the most straightforward but has caused me the most revisiting. I am pretty excited to be able to film again. In all, even though I still have a ton of room to improve I can't wait to make a new film. After I hopefully pass the exam for this class, I intend on taking the second part of this class, or the A portion. I also would like to get the AICE diploma. So far I have two AICE credits and if I pass all of my AICE classes this year I will have six credits and be much closer to getting the diploma.
