Filming Blog 2

On Monday, the 4th my group continued filming. I still had the role as camera man but it was a little different this time. My partner had to film three scenes because of the placement. He was also still the character being filmed on screen. It was very bright out today so we had to film differently. The scene we were trying to film required a phone to be recorded by another. This is because one phone was acting as a stopwatch prop. To still get the shot we wanted my partner had to film his right hand with his left. He also had to do this under a tree to reduce the glare. The brightness of the sun wouldn't let us record out of the shade because we couldn't see the phone screen on camera. Once we decided to film under trees we were able to proceed. It took us a while to create a plan because of the different variables. Initially we didn't want to film under a tree because we thought it would make the setting change to much. To fix this problem we decided to film the track in the background of the scene. In doing this it shows that the character stays in the same setting. We had to re-take a couple of these shots though, because the sun still gave us problems in certain spots. By staying at the end of the shade my partner was able to get some of the track and the stop watch in the shot. In these shots we took close-ups and long shots. This captured the track and the stopwatch, one was close while the other was a bit away. After we finished the filming the shots, we made sure our other shots were usable. This is because, this class was our last filming day so they all needed to be finished. Due to our shots all being ready, my group is ready for next phase.
